The Université Pierre Mendès France proposes many different study subjects. This pluridisciplinarity is a basic principle and an asset that enables the university to better support its research missions by providing the relevant keys to understanding society.
In terms of research, the UPMF associates fundamental thinking, capacities in the field of applied research and expertise in political, economic, social and cultural changes; so the university contributes to a particularly fruitful scientific, technological, industrial, local and regional context.
Within the four-year 2007-2010 contract signed with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Université Pierre Mendès France has implemented an organization in six large resources-poles associating research laboratories and training institutes (teaching deparments, Schools, Institutes, Doctoral Schools):
Territory Sciences
Economics, Management, Innovation and Production Sociology
Cognition Sciences and Technologies
Legal Sciences
Arts, Culture and Societies
Restructuring of Europe
Within these subjects, there are three priority axes:
Micronanotechnologies, uses and habits, society
Territory, environment, risks
Proof administration in social and human sciences
