Choice of syllabuses (exchange programs)

Exchange program students can choose from a large selection of Licence classes, equivalent to "Undergraduate" level.

French degrees

French degrees are affiliated to the European LMD program.
  • the French licence (L) takes three years after the Baccalauréat ("bac+3"),
  • the Master (M) two years after the Licence ("bac+5"),
  • the Doctorate (D) three years after the Master ("bac+8").

Each year consists of two semesters of around four months:

  • the first one from September to January
  • the second from January to May

Choosing your exchange syllabus

Exchange students must choose a list of "Undergraduate" level syllabuses which correspond to the "Licence" level in France.
The first year of Licence is usually represented by the acronym "L1".
The first semester of the academic year corresponds to the acronym "S1". But semesters add up from year to year; for example, L2S4 corresponds to the second semester of the second Licence year.

The licences are next to never pluri-disciplinary in France; they focus on one subject  (law, sociology, economics, philosophy...).

See the list of "Undergraduate" classes proposed by the university.
